Who We Serve

Savoy Heights Community

Serving friends and families and building relationships within Savoy Heights and the surrounding community. Offering Community Gardeners individual, raised bed garden plots filled with fertilized soil and the usage of water for gardening home grown, nutritious vegetables and companion flowers. A rental fee of $25 per year will be asked of those who can afford it, with partial scholarships available. We invite neighbors of all ages to come be a part of this growing garden community. Friendship Community Gardens will be a source of pride in the Savoy Heights neighborhood. The gardens will be a place of exercise and recreation for our older neighbors, a learning experience for the young, and a source of nutritious, locally grown vegetables that just may help some families supplement their tables.
We hope as the growing seasons pass, and the community network supporting Friendship Community Gardens in Savoy Heights grows, the success here might stand as a model for what other neighborhoods can accomplish!

Friendship House Fayetteville

An intentional living community on the peninsula of Highland Avenue, Arsenal Avenue and Broadfoot Avenue, that provides affordable, integrated housing for young adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. At its core, this faith-based community is rooted in table fellowship expressed through a daily rhythm of eating, praying and celebrating together.
Friendship Community Gardens hope to provide day programming for residents and area volunteers to build relationships between intellectually and developmentally challenged young adults and community members through working in the gardens. FCG will be a place where residents and garden volunteers will grow nutritious vegetables and companion flowers for the purpose of providing for the tables at Friendship House, as well as utilizing surplus for a neighborhood Farmer’s Markets. A Farmer’s Market would be an awesome addition to the surrounding neighbors, and could provide a place where our young adults can learn and practice life skills such as money management and effective communication with their neighborhood customers!
