Volunteer at Friendship Community Gardens

Friendship Community Gardens is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to use gardening to build relationships among divergent neighborhoods and to grow fresh, nutritious vegetables.  The Gardens cannot be effective without community volunteers.  We invite friends, families, civic groups, company friends, church families, and community members of any age, background and ability to come be a part of the experience!

If you would like more information on how we can use your “hands and feet” to develop and maintain the Gardens, please fill out the form below:

Become a Neighborhood Gardener

We welcome families and friends of Savoy Heights to come be a part of Friendship Community Gardens by becoming a Neighborhood Gardener.  No matter your level of gardening experience, consider renting an individual, 5’X10’ garden plot for $25 per year (partial scholarships available where needed).  Your garden plot will be marked with your name and will include the 5’x10′ raised bed, fertilized soil and water usage.  Friendship Community Gardens also hopes to be able to offer a selection of seeds and seedlings, a variety of tools to share among the garden community (“the tool pool”) and potentially a variety of gardening classes depending on interest.  We encourage all Neighborhood Gardeners to join the work of other volunteers by volunteering an extra hour or two a month to help with weeding and other general maintenance chores in and around the pathways and other common areas.

If you are interested in becoming a Community Gardener, or if you would like more information, please contact us by either picking up a flyer at the gardens, printing off the our interest card and mailing it to PO Box 53908 Fayetteville, NC 28305, or by sending us an email with all of your information.

We look forward to gardening with you!
